President's Day

This week we are celebrating President's Day by learning about our founding fathers. We thought this would be a great time to learn about the coins and their value as well. We are taking a coin each day and learning about that president. Yesterday we learned about Abraham Lincoln and the penny. We read the story Abe Lincoln's Hat. The kids loved how Abe would keep important documents paper in his hat! I had the students create their own Abe Lincoln and tell me what THEY would keep in their tall hat.

This student said he would keep his house keys in his hat! Me too!
