Center Time!

Our center time is probably the kids' favorite time of the day. Which is okay with me because they do some great learning during this time! During center time, pairs are sent to a center for 8-10 minutes. They will rotate to 3 or 4 centers each day. I have found that Kindergarten centers need to be quick and purposeful or the students will lose interest quickly! Here is a center that my kids LOVE. You could even do this at home! I will be adding more of our centers very soon.

The students read the sight word and then stack it up! If they can't read the word, they have to ask their partner for help. The bigger the tower, the more words they read!

This is our "Shake and Spill" game. The kids have 10 counters in a cup. They spill out the counters and fill in the tens frame. Then they have to write the math sentence that matches! They love getting to shake, and it's great for remembering their math facts.
