The recognition of sight words is SO important for beginning readers. We have been practicing the words I, a, see, can, the, like, my, and, etc. We notice these all day throughout our daily instruction. The kiddos were given their very own reading tubs, and they are doing an excellent job reading their emergent readers! You should have seen their faces when they read their first book by themselves!! I can't wait for them to read these to you.

| Color words are sight words, too!! Keep practicing those color words! They love the color songs. |
