Secret Sounds

When teaching specific sounds in words, sometimes it takes a little gimmick! Here are some "secret stories" I teach to help us learn tricky sounds in words.

The "ou" and "ow" sound within a word. The picture is supposed to be a bandaid to help them remember the "ow" sound.

The short e sound is something the kids LOVE doing. We pretend it is someone who can't hear well and says "Eh, What'd ya say?"
